Underpinning Methods

This method is labor-intensive but produces a solid, continuous footing extension. Mini-pile underpinning: small-diameter (2 to 4 inch) steel piles drilled through the existing footing and into stable soil, grouted in place. Jet grouting: high-pressure water/cement slurry injected to create soil-cement columns in place — used in soft soil where excavation is not practical.
